How to wear a nasal mask
1. First of all, insert the flaps of the headgear into both the top and side holes of the nasal mask.
2. Cover the nose with the nasal mask. Arrange the headgear to be well-fitted on the back of head.
3. Connect the nasal mask to one end of the hose, and the other end to the CPAP or Auto CPAP.
4. Turn on the CPAP or Auto CPAP.
5. Lay down on bed and adjust the tightness of the elastic headgear. This will reduce leakage of air. Also avoid the headgear being pulled too tight.
How to clean
1. Nasal Mask: Use soap liquid with water to rinse it daily, then leave it in a cool, dry place to dry out. Do not use bleach, laundry detergent to clean the nasal mask. Avoid direct sunlight.
2. Headgear, Hose: Use soap liquid with water to cleanse it weekly. The headgear cannot be put into the washing machine. Hose must be thoroughly dried out before use.
3. White filters: Must be replaced monthly. Do not wash and reuse. Filters are able to block very fine dust particles such as pollen.
Common problems and solutions when using a CPAP / Auto CPAP
1. Dry eyes
Cause: There is air leakage around the eye area of the nasal mask.
Solution: Try to rearrange the wearing of nasal mask.
2. Dry nose and dry throat, or nosebleeds
Cause: Maybe the humidity in room is too low.
Solution: Use the heat moisture exchanger.
3. Dry mouth and dry tongue
Cause: The user opens their mouth during sleep.
Solution: Can use chin strap.
4. Blocked nose
Cause: When having a blocked nose, the user may feel uncomfortable when using a CPAP / Auto CPAP.
Solution: Visit your doctor and he will prescribe you drugs that will relieve blocked nose.
5. Irritation occurs in the contact point between the nasal mask and the skin
Cause: Maybe the headgear is pulled too tight, or the user is sensitive to the material of nasal mask
Solution: Re-adjust the tightness of the headgear and nasal mask. If the situation does not improve, contact your doctor.
